周鼎博士,南方科技大学系统设计与智能制造学院助理教授。基于自2018年开展且已完成答辩的研究课题,他正在被澳大利亚昆士兰科技大学授予工业设计博士学位。周鼎博士是一位涉足工业设计和STEM(科学、技术、工程、数学)教育的跨学科学者,同时也是昆士兰科技大学STEM教育研究协会的成员。在获得工业设计学士和硕士学位之后,周鼎博士自2009年至2018年在中国南京艺术学院担任工业设计副教授。在2012年,他赴美国弗吉尼亚大学担任双语访问教员;2014年至2015年,赴新西兰惠灵顿维多利亚大学设计创新学院担任访问学者。周鼎博士摒弃以机器为中心的倾向,乐于思考人们如何感知科技的有用性。因为具有STEM/新工科知识转化的高校教育经验,他的教学可以培养学生的STEM/新工科素质——一种从相关学科中识别、应用、整合概念以理解复杂问题并创新解决它们的能力。周鼎博士已在国内外学术刊物杂志及重要国际学术会议上发表论文近20篇。
